I was about to share my new blog address last night, then something stupid broke for no apparent reason.

I posted on the WP Support forum as a reply to someone who had the exact same problem at the same time as me…odd.

Two days ago, I could use my theme editor to make changes within WP. THEN after posting three times and updating a “page”, I tried to edit the header.php to reflect the new page and it won’t load any of the .php files. It continually refreshes back to style.css. It also does the same thing in file editor.

Yes I’ve changed and checked all permissions etc and did re-install the files. The odd thing is I think it’s my header.php file that’s messed up because when I use my .ftp client directly, the files all download in text like they should accept for header.php. It “views only” as text, but if I try to download or edit, it opens up as blue, broken page links. It’s really odd.

I suggested in the support forum that perhaps a plugin is writting something to the files. This was a brand new install of WP 2.0.4. Any thoughts or ideas? I wish I had more experience on this myself, I’ve read a ton of support files and how to’s. It’s just frustrating, two days ago, the editor worked fine, now my hands are tied.

*cross posted to MR

I’m still working on my other site…who would have thought raising kids and working takes up a lot of time?

Speaking of plugging along…please recommend your WordPress “must have” plugins. I’ve got quite a few already in place, but I’d like to hear which ones you love!

I had a pretty irritating day at work. A long day too. I could list off a bunch of stuff today that drove me bonkers including a couple of hours of very LOUD plumbing work right outside my window. After burning two grilled cheese sandwiches in a row tonight, I got really irritated and snarked at Doug (mostly ‘cuz he was there) to get out of the kitchen. I guess I’ll have to promise some sort of sexual favor to get forgiveness LOL!

Ben has his WBC tomorrow. =/ Another five shots coming! At least we’ll see how much he weighs now. Here’s the little guy asleep in his jolly jumper just a few days ago. He loves that thing. Jumps and jumps and jumps!

Hey, make sure your email address on your profile is an active email address you use if you want to follow me when I close this blog up. Add your blog address if you haven’t already too! I can’t even get pictures posted on here anymore, so it’s discouraging and I’m getting burned out. Hopefully I can get something else set up soon!

Ben’s spitting up got a lot worse about a week and a half ago, so we switched his formula to Enfamil AR (thicker). I split the nipples and he’s been doing great. Within a couple of days we noticed a difference. He still spits up, but it’s chunkier and less. He’s feeding less often and more ounces each time. He is napping better during the days and still sleeps full nights. We’re even finding he’s going down for the night earlier, 8:30-9 instead of 10-10:30, yet still gets up at 7 a.m. It’s great.

He smiles a lot and laughs at all sorts of things. Very cute! He is attached to a song from the dirty dancing movie (Cry to Me). He’s nuts for it. Every time I sit to feed him now, he cries until I put it on. I sing it to him and when the last few lines of the song comes on, he starts crying again. It’s like he KNOWS it’s about to end. Mom and Doug were laughing about it earlier because I had to play the song four times for him to finish his bottle and each time the same thing…cry for it, stop as soon it’s on. Crazy kid!

Daniel and Ben both started school this past week. Things are settling into more of a routine. Daniel is still peeing pretty good on the potty. We are no where being trained yet, he still wets himself, but it’s progress. He’s definitely HAPPY to be back at school. He talks about a girl he’s known for a long time in his class, she’s his BEST FRIEND he says. Awwww. That’s the first time he’s ever said that about someone. It’s really cute. His teacher says he’s a sweet boy, very helpful to the other kids and polite! He was heard asking one little girl “if he could please play with that when she was through”. ha ha, imagine a three year old using manners to another three year old.

Ben is doing okay in his class. I’ve made it clear that I want to be called down (remember I just work upstairs) if they can’t calm him down when he gets upset. I was called on Friday. As soon as I took him, he calmed down and took his bottle just fine. It was clogging up a bit, so I figure it just made him real mad. Once I changed nipples and walked him around a bit, he was a happy clam again!

Anyway, I’ll post an update when I have a new blog set up. I wish I could just move this one over, but I can’t get this version updated, so oh well. I will email those I know from the registered users list with a new address. If I miss you, then I’ll leave my email address as a contact. I figure that way I’ll weed out the one time visitors.

Baby’s up…cya

What a great portrait session we had at Sears yesterday. The photographer there this time was amazing. Daniel was being typically stubborn and she turned him right around in just a few minutes. She let him take pictures of her and Ben and a teddy bear. He had a great time! Ben behaved perfectly. We didn’t get many smiles out of him, but I’m sure we will next time. I bought the special that had free enhancements and included the CD, so I’m going to print a ton of wallets! Mind you all the ones I ordered are enhanced, so they aren’t exactly like what you see. Some are cropped and vinettes (sp?) added etc. It also included a couple of collages and a free 8×10. They are adorable!

Ben’s fussing and dishwasher is calling. It’s never ending these days.

So, Monday while I was at work, the cable internet just started working again on its own. My last call on Saturday to Charter was so unpleasant, I just plain gave up on it ever working. I figured okay, we’ll have dial up until Earthlink stuff arrives. Well Earthlink stuff arrived EARLY. Doug still hasn’t hooked it all up yet, but we’re going to give it a try so we really can tell Charter to go screw themselves!

Here’s the kicker though, after all of the incredibly rude, lying, unhelpful customer service we received for the entire ordeal, they call yesterday … curtesy call (imagine!) from Charter Communications to see if our internet was okay. They are lucky Doug answered the phone, had I been home, they would have gotten another earful. Idiots.

I finally lost my cool with them last night. I spoke to yet another stupid service rep. She had the balls to question my statement regarding a service tech scheduled to come to our house last night by 9pm. I lost it then. Like I’d waste my f’n time calling them AGAIN if I was lying. Holy shit. Oh well, after a ten minute rant, I finally told her I couldn’t WAIT for Earthlink to arrive so I can call them back to tell them to shove their internet up their ass. Have a good night. click. You all have NO IDEA what we’ve been through trying to get service back up. It’s been the worse customer service ordeal I’ve ever experienced. INS was a walk in the park compared to the bull shit these service reps spew out night after night. Let alone the HOURS and HOURS we were on the phone with them, most of which was on hold. Sigh.

We have stupid dial up for now to check mail and such and Earthlink is on it’s way. I hope it’s more reliable and not just another headache. For now, I won’t be blogging, too busy and too annoyed that we all have to share an internet connection. It pisses me off.

I’m back to work, it was a horrible week. We found one of our long time employees/volunteers in the rest room during our staff picnic lunch, dead from a heart attack. It was very difficult seeing all the paramedics work on him. They truly are amazing people that do that job. Went to the funeral yesterday. The people I work with every day are truly amazing when you see them doing their jobs. The choir sang their hearts out and you knew it by every hair on your body standing up. Just wow.

Okay, quick household update…
Ben is doing great. Still sleeping right on through the night like a good little boy! Eating like a little pig all day to make up for that long sleep. He still spits up a lot even after trying the new formula, so we’ve kept him on his regular stuff because considering he’s off the charts on his weight, he’s doing just fine. I have not tried cereal with him yet, I’ll probably wait awhile yet on that. I’m betting he’ll like it though. he’s a piggy! He’s laughing and smiling and cooing. He bats at toys and recently started actually holding some rattles or rings and attempts to reach for some. He’s not rolling at all yet, but Daniel was a late roller too. I think it’s because they were so heavy.

Daniel has good days and bad days. He can yell a lot now and get pretty sassy, but a quick time out fixes him good. He’s bored out of his mind and house bound. no school yet and it’s just too damn hot outside to let him out. We’ve had 100++ temperatures for weeks now with no break. He’s still sweet as can be and genuinely is a good boy, he’s just bored and wants my attention away from Ben. We’re making very slow progress on the potty. We’ve went from him refusing to sit on it at the beginning of summer to now he’ll pee 4-5 each day on it. He can sit now and push out a pee when you ask him too. Now if we could just get him running to the potty when he has to go. He still wets himself no matter what we put on him. Oh well, it’ll come in time.

The big kids all started school this week too. They drag their butts moaning all the way. Oh well. Justin has been running his ass off with the team all summer training for cross country this season. His committment and hard work paid off because the coach put him on varsity and made him a team captain. Hard to believe he’s a junior this year. yikes.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Still muddling through day to day. I haven’t read any blogs in weeks. I promise to catch up on ya’ll! Leave me a comment if something fun or exciting has happened to you. I can always check email at least!
